"Zoltan Krudy won 1st place in Senior Men's Epee at the Rose Condon Memorial Tournament in Shreveport. The field of 55 included six A-rated fencers. Magnus Ferguson placed twelve overall in a loss to Hossam Mahmoud of FIT. Both Zoltan and Magnus won all their pool bouts in the first round.
Zoltan Krudy bested Joseph Oliverius with an amazing comeback in the gold medal bout of the two A07 rated fencers. The start of the bout looked bleak for Krudy. Oliverius was up 7-2 after the first encounter. Krudy was more focused in the second encounter closing the score to 9-6. In the third encounter Krudy took the lead (10-9) with only 6 seconds remaining.
Oliverius, quickly recovered the tie within three seconds and the bout went into overtime at 10-10. Krudy won the toss. Oliverius had to be make the point or lose. Krudy won the title with just 13 seconds remaining in overtime by delivering the coup de grace with a lunge."
