What a weekend we had at the Austin RYC/ RJC!! Alliance scored 30 medals from events all the way from Youth 10 to Division 2!!!
Highlights:
Oliva Tao earned her E rating! Go Olivia!
Lizzie Chiang earned her C rating! Go Lizzie!
Teammates Peyton Young and Nikita Bushuev had to fence one another in their first DE in Youth 10 Men’s Epee. With very encouraging and team focused families the boys ended their bout with Nikita winning 10-4. Great job fencers and families!!
Max Popovici and Miles Weiss fenced one another in Youth Men’s Epee for the top 8. Miles was the victor to Max with the score of 15-4 respectively. Way to go, boys!
Clubmates Levi Hughes and CJ Franco-Tentiouk fenced for the top 8 as well! With the very close score of 15-13 respectively Levi was the victor of the day. Hard match!!
Amelia Toffelmire and and Elizabeth Wang had to fence for the top 4. Amelia was the victor with the score of 15-13. Great fight, ladies!! Then right afterwards Amelia Toffelmire and and Talia Weiss fenced for the top 2 and Amelia was the top fencer of the day with the score of 15-10. The final bout of the day was Amelia Toffelmire and Amber Nussberger with Amber being the Gold Medalists and Amelia the Silver Medalist with the score of 15-11 respectively.
Thomas Jennings and Behr Crouse had to fence for the top 8. Thomas was on top for the day with the score 15-6.
Levi Hughes and Evan Xu had to fence for the top 8 (it is becoming a “thing!”), then Levi and Rohaan had to fence for the top 4! Rohaan for the day was the victor at 15-11.
Amber Nussberger and Talia Weiss had to fence for the top 8 in Youth 14 Women’s Epee.
Olivia Tao and Ann Popovici had to fence on another in Youth 14 Women’s Epee for their first DE in Youth 14 Women’s Epee. Olivia was the victor 15-6 respectively. Good job, girls!
Amelia Toffelmire and Mckenzie Moton fenced another in theiir first DE as well!! They finished with the score 15-9 with Mckenzie being the victor. Go girls!
Mates Sarah Joshi and Monica Balakrishnan also fenced for their first DE!! Sarah finished on top 15-8 respectively. The very next bout Sarah had to fence her club mate Ariana! Ariana came out on top 15-7.
In Junior Men’s Epee mates Matthias Alden and Will Smith had to fence for their first DE. Will was the victor 15-9 respectively. The very next bout Will had to fence his teammate Nico Popovici! Will won with the score of 15-10 respectively.
Mates William Graber and Patrick Satterfield had to fence for the top 4. Patrick was the victor with the score of 15-10. Way to go, lads!
In Junior Women’s Epee Olivia Tao had to fence mate Lizzie Chiang for her second DE. Lizzie was the victor of the day with the score of 15-8 respectively! Congrats fencers!
Our girls Nika Filippov and Jessica Thow had to fence one another for the top 8. Jessica finished on top with the score of 15-7 respectively. Right after this Jessica had to fence her teammate Ariana for the gold medal bout! Ariana was the gold winner with the score of 15-11 respectively with Jessica being the silver winner. Go chickas!
In Division 2 Mixed Epee teammates Sarah Joshi and Rohaan Saripella had to fence one another for their first DE! Rohaan was the victor of the day with the score 15-13! Lovely job, guys!
