shines in Helsinki, Finland, and makes the podium in Tauberbishofsheim, Germany in the Junior World Cup circuit

Dina Bazarbayeva of Alliance Fencing Academy had a great international fencing trip around Thanksgiving. In the Young Lions Junior World Cup in Helsinki Dina beat Karin Louise (DEN) 15-9. She beat Iris Schechtman (ISR) 15-12 and lost to Courtney Hurley finishing 8th. The tournament was won by Avital Marinuk (ISR) while Courtney Hurley finished third overall.

After a couple of days of practice in Tauberbischofsheim the following weekend Dina fenced in the Moebel Shott Dunlopillo Junior World Cup in Tauber. This time Dina beat Leila-Annett Kummer (Ger) 15-10, followed by Regina Galeeva (RUS) 15-14, Ricarda Multerer (GER) 15-14 entering in top 8. Dina won the quarterfinal aginst Katarzyna Dabrowa (POL) but lost again to Courtney Hurley in the semifinal. Courtney won the gold and Dina earned the bronze medal!

Current FIE junior ranking has Courtney Hurley at #1 with 134 points and Dina Bazarbayeva #30 with 36 points.

Congratulations!
