Regional Youth CircuitNov. 5-6, Houston, TX
Our youth program is doing better than ever!
The Regional Youth Circuit was held at Bayou City Fencing Academy on November 5th and 6th, 2005.
Preston Gray and Signe Ferguson each received gold medals in the under 10 foil events. The training received from Alliance foil coach Sabina Bazarbayeva made these wins possible.
Texas is a large state with many good fencers of all ages. Preston and Sidney can be proud of this great achievement.
Sabina's daughter Dina Bazarbayeva also received a gold medal in epee under 14. In the same event Laura Berton MacLaine placed 3rd (her best results to date!) and Kristen Taylor placed 5th
Michael Popovici placed 5th in Y8 mixed foil and 10th in Y10 mixed epee.
Anton Piskovatskov placed 14th in the Y10 foil (at only 8 years old). A few weeks earlier, Anton placed 1st in a Houston Cup event.
Madison Loveless placed 6th in Y10 women's foil.
Preston Gray placed 8th and Gabriel Acuna placed 16th in Y12 men's foil.
Kristen Taylor placed 10th and Callie Carson placed 13th in Y12 women's epee. This was Callie's first tournament ever - AWESOME!)
Signe Ferguson placed 9th in Y12 women's foil.
Magnus Ferguson placed 7th and Michael Conrad placed 17th in Y14 Men's epee. This was Michael's first tournament ever - EXCELLENT!)
Gabriel Acuna placed 17th in Y14 men's foil.
Leeana Loveless placed 9th in Y14 women's foil.
Congratulations to all our fencers and coaches. We are looking forward to more of these great results in the future.
