2007 Russian Summer Camp

Sponsored by "Spartak Fencing School of Olympic Reserve" - one of the best fencing schools in Russia

 

 

 

When: July 14 – August 1, 2007 (dates may vary)  

 

Who: Youth and teenage fencers 12 -18 years of age.

 

Where: Suburb of St. Petersburg, Russia. The fencing camp located in a beautiful forest area surrounded by several clean blue water lakes 50 miles away from the city.  Camp facilities include a sports hall, soccer fields, basketball and volleyball courts, racetracks and much more.

Coaches: Andrey Geva and local coaches.

 

Accommodation: Kids will stay at the dorms with 3-4 people in each room. There are 8 rooms per floor with community toilets and showers.

 

Security: Provided by local government security company 24/7. No cars or strangers are  allowed to come into the camp’s territory.

 

Food: 4 times a day in the camp’s dining room (do not expect cokes and burgers JJJ). Nearby are small supermarkets where kids can buy some snacks, sodas, and chocolates at a reasonable price.

 

Training: Twice a day concentrated on endurance, fitness and individual fencing instructions. Daily sessions includes jogging, swimming, outdoor sports games, special fencing exercises, group and individual fencing lessons.

 

Entertainment: Every two days on afternoons and weekends kids will travel to St. Petersburg with a minimum of two adults (including Andrey Geva) for: city tours, canals and river tour, museums, theaters, exhibition halls, Russian ballet and more. We also are planning one-day tour to Moscow (8 hours from St. Petersburg by night train).

 

Connections: If your child will not have an international cell phone, you may contact him via the Internet or the camp phone. (Andrey will provide you this number before departure.)

 

Medicine: There is a local medicine station at the camp. It is recommended to provide your child with all necessary American medicines. You provide Andrey Geva a notarized limited “Power of Attorney” prior to departure in the event your child needs medical treatment.

 

Cost:  $900 - $1,100 (the cost may vary, it depends on number of goings)

The package includes the following:

  •  Camp fees (accommodation, feeding and training)

  • Andrey’s traveling expenses

  • Andrey’s coaching fees for two weeks (individual lessons are included). At you fencer’s request, the local coaches will provide individual lessons for additional price of only $12.

Other expenses (not included to the camp cost):

  • Round trip air fees: about $1,500 - $1,600

  • Russian visa: $150

  • Transportation to camp, airport, city etc.: about $150

  • St. Petersburg city tours & attractions: about $150

  • Moscow tour: about $120
