Foreign Korean ChampionshipsNew York, NY, January 2, 2005
Woong Lim was placed 4th out of 45 in the Men's Epee, losing 15/12 to the eventual Champion JinKook Kim from Daegu, S.Korea in the Foreign Korean Championships in New York, New York Jan 2, 2005. Lim also had an excellent result, becoming the first amateur Korean fencer in Korean Men’s national Foil finishing 7th out of 24. Lim trains in Houston with Alliance Fencing and leads an epee fencing team in St. Agnes Academy. In an interview with Korean reporters, Lim said “excellent fencers at the Alliance and dedicated coaches only help him improve everyday,” He also said, “losing is fun because you learn as much.” Congratulations Lim.
