Great results for Alliance fencers at World Championships in Croatia!!

Alliance fencers battled hard finishing with fantastic results!!

Ari Simmons (USA) took the Gold and claimed the title of “Cadet World Champion”!!! This is Team USA’s first Men’s Epee title at the Cadet Worlds since 2006!! Way to go Ari!!!

Molly Hudson (GBR) fought her way to the top and finished 7th in the Cadet Women’s Epee event!! On her way to the finals she defeated top ranked European fencer from Russia Daria Filina. Molly lost for the medal round to the top ranked world fencer from Israel Alona Komarov by only a few points. Great job Molly!!!

Lewis Weiss made it into the top 32!! He started off leading for the top 16 against Spain’s Alvaro Ibanez 8-4, but then lost with the close score of 12-15. He finished 21st out of 142 fencers. Go Lewis!!!

Jack Hudson made it into the top 32 as well!! He got a very unlucky draw, and came against high ranked Italian fencer Marco Fichera 13-15. He finished 30th out of 142 fencers. Good job Jack!!

Anna Van Brummen did not have her best day in the Individual event; however, in teams Anna dominated the day with her team representing the USA finishing 4th!! Way to fight Anna!!

Lewis and Ari fenced together in the team event representing Team USA. They lost for the top 8 to the European Team Champions Israeli Team 37-45 finishing 11th out of 34 teams.

Jack also fenced teams representing Great Britain and finished 17th.
